Associate Professor Nguyen Hoang Lan is a senior public health scholar with extensive experience in public health research, health economics, health promotion, maternal and child health, and non-communicable disease prevention. She has been a faculty member of the Faculty of Public Health, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, since 2005 and currently serves as Vice President of the Public Health and Preventive Medicine Association of Hue City.
She obtained her Master’s degree in Health Economics from Heidelberg University, Germany, and her PhD in Public Health from Khon Kaen University, Thailand. Her research focuses on health economic evaluation, quality of life assessment, cancer prevention and control, maternal mental health, violence prevention, vaccine acceptance, and health system strengthening.
Associate Professor Lan has led and participated in numerous national and international research projects funded by Hue University, Fred Hollows Foundation, and other organizations. She has published extensively in both national and international peer-reviewed journals, including Frontiers in Public Health, Supportive Care in Cancer, Women & Health, Violence Against Women, Health Psychology Open, and Sustainability. Her work has contributed substantially to evidence-based public health policy and practice in Vietnam.
She is actively involved in postgraduate education and research supervision, mentoring doctoral, master's, and specialist trainees in public health and health management.
